A DO, or a doctor of osteopathy, like an MD, is a fully licensed physician with the unlimited practice of medicine. We both go through 4 years of medical school followed by residency training in any specialty. The distinguishing quality of a DO is the emphasis that a person’s lifestyle has a tremendous impact on their patient’s health.
